in my (very few) spare time lately i have been cranking out a few softies. i really like these quirky little critters made from vintage fabric and sheets.

im thinking of listing a few in my (abandoned) etsy shop. what do you think? maybe a good christmas present...

birthday love

september has come to be fondly known as 'the crazy birthday month'. most of my closest friends have their birthdays in september as well as my dad and sister! smack bang in the middle of this is my birthday (coming up next week)...! i'll be 25. eek.


i made a grand discovery last night - look at this book!!!! it has all the op shops in brisbane listed in here.. oh my! could it be any more perfect? i am posting this as a not so subtle hint to some of my friends who perhaps read my blog... pretty please?? also if you live in brisbane and love op shopping then this is the book for you. check out more over here

i am also currently having a love affair with vintage (or handmade) wooden toys! i don't know what it is about them but i love the idea that they have been made by hand and loved before. i have no children and no immediate plans to do so but i figure it is never too early to start a wooden toy collection. right? check out some of my favourites here and here...

i know that i have spoken a bit about how i have recently started a new job but im not too sure if i have told you all what it is exactly that i am doing. i teach high school. when i tell people this i generally do not get a positive response... it is usually something along the lines of 'why would you want to do that'? and sometimes i think its a completely valid question! but i really do love it (please remind me of this when i start complaining about how tired and frustrated i am)!!

at the moment i am teaching phys ed which means i get to dress for comfort which is fabulous but when it comes to the weekend i just want to dress up in pretty things... lately i have been wearing a lot of vintage dresses with my ankle boots or my new boyfriend style jeans with a plain tee, cons and funky necklace. i have been searching etsy to expand my necklace collection - here are some of my favourites!
