love at first sight...
i went to nepal... and i fell in love.
seriously.
it is exactly what my life has been missing.
the people, the smells, the colours, the joy, the smiles.
more to come... (plus a little tour of my newly cleaned craft room!! yay!)

im back...
hello friends...
i am back from a wonderfully exhausting week of service and fun. the idea is to gather up a group of people and head out to a more rural location to lend a hand for a week. the initiative is called STORMCO and stands for 'service to others really matters' (not sure about the co on the end). i went out as a trip leader and we took 24 high school aged kiddies along for the ride. We ran a holiday program for the local kids, scrubbed graffiti, painted, mulched, picked up rubbish and played some of the local boys in touch footy.
we also managed to have a whole lot of fun! it is so amazing to see these 14-16 year olds give up a week of their holidays, PAY to come along and work so hard! it was a week full of blessings!!
we put on an op shop formal for the kids who were on the trip which was a lot of fun! i'll post some pictures of that tomorrow... but until then - here are just a few of the wonderful week that was...

thanks queen e...

here in australia we had the pleasure of celebrating the birth of the queen by having a day off... hip hip hooray! i packed my bags and headed down to melbourne for the annual girls weekend!! in high school there were six of us girls who were really close... we have managed to stay friends through two interstate moves, countless break-ups and break downs, six weddings and cancer. they are fantastic!
we headed out to rye for the weekend and spent our time eating chocolate, drinking coffee, watching the sixth season of sex and the city, reading magazines, going for morning nature walks and giggling!
p.s - check out that freaking enormous stingray (in the last pic) that was hiding under the pier... eek!

easter and the islands
for easter i went cruising. it was super rad.

This was our sweet ride :)
on the days we were released (yes, this word is appropriate!) onto dry land we got to laze on the beach and meet and greet the locals. i've got to say that i have never felt like more of a tourist as when 2000 plus cruisers are released onto semi-inhabited islands to overwhelm the locals and get suitably ripped off for our brazen ignorances. everybody wins.
so heres to being a tourist... sometimes i guess its okay.
