you've got mail

one of my lovliest friends moved out west for work a few months ago. this is the girl that i backpacked around europe and danced across india with! she is fabulous!

i have been collecting some goodies to send to her in a care package and finally got around to posting it last week. here is what i posted :)

-some bouncy balls (it is common knowledge that you are NEVER too old for bouncy balls!! and this advetisment for sony has got to be one of the BEST EVER!)

-some handmade soap wrapped up in red and white paper

-red pencils

-chocolate

-a paullina simons book that i found at the op shop (she is fabulous! if you haven't read the bronze horseman you are missing out)

-a moustache tote that i crafted

-and a crocheted heart badge

i made it myself :)

i popped along to the more recent brown owls meeting here in brisbane and found myself crocheting! who would have thought? i really am crafty now!! i have just been practising crocheting dish cloths cos even i can't go too wrong with them :) last week i decided it was time to branch out and try something new...

i popped my search into youtube and found this little gem! there are heaps of great tutorials out there on the world wide web but i can reccommend this one as it was so easy to follow... even i could do it!

then i just stitched the loose ends back into the heart and glued some brooch pins onto the back! super cute and easy :)

my new lover

this arrived for me in the mail today! there is something so happy about getting mail - even if you ordered and paid for it yourself :)

i have been loving this dress for a while now - the love bomb collection from LOVER has been my favourite so far. so i finally bit the bullet and put in some bids on ebay and now this little baby is all mine!! cant wait to frolic around the streets of brisbane with my new lover!!

i think op shopping is all luck. i try to increase the odds by going more often and therefore getting all the good stuff before anyone else even gets a look in. i have two local op shops that i will usually try and get to at least once a week (no im not going to tell you where they are - haha)! i have found some of my best stuff here and im convinced its only cos im there so much! this pink party dress is a new favourite.. perfect for the upcoming op shop formal im helping to host for some of the kids at church (which is really just an excuse to buy a fab new vintage dress!!).

im not entirely sure how i missed this for so long - but the lovely people at frankie not only have a fabulous magazine but an equally fabulous blog!! its full of fab events, links and photos!
