at last.

...we finally have chickens. hooray!! those of you who have been reading this blog for a while will know how long i have been waiting for chickens... and my persistence has paid off (who said nagging didn't work??)!

two happy little isa browns came to live with us over the weekend and so far they have layed 11 eggs between them. they are about four months old and a little skittish but have enjoyed pecking around the vegie garden and are very good at eating kitchen scraps :) their names are Peggy and Harriet and they are fabulous.

  1. You will love having chickens, they are such a joy. They will warm up to you too, once they realise you are where their food comes from. Mine follow me around the yard until I almost trip over them, thinking they are going to get a treat. I hope they lay you many beautiful eggs.

    Have a great weekend!

  12. Enjoy those chooks Kel. I loved my three girls so much, still haven't recovered from the fox that took them all in the night back in September. Waiting a little while before we get some more, need to reinforce the coop/run. Make sure you lock them up at night. melx
