some mail...

my mailbox was a very happy place on tuesday! the super rad Jes sent me a little pacel for my birthday complete with a handmade card, some tea and this lovely heart garland :) i have hung it up in my sewing room (this is the only room that is semi-unpacked at this stage - priorities much? haha)! Jes and i have some mutual friends and at the moment she is living and teaching with her new hubby out in the WA desert. we are both in a wedding together in a couple of weeks time so it will be lovely to catch up with her :) pop on over and say hi at her lovely blog!!

i also got a swap parcel from pip as part of gracie's 'just because you're lovely' swap. there were some lovely vintage fabrics and scarves and some seeds to i can get started on my vegie garden!!! woohoo! she also included some jewellery that she made herself. pip is about to open up an etsy store in the next few days so stay tuned over at her blog. to see what i sent her have a look over here...

i was at home sick on monday.. boo! as i made my way through the latest season of greys anatomy i also grabbed some scissors and glue and made many many envelopes for all the mail i plan to send over the next little while. they just look so pretty all sitting there in a pile :)

one of my favourite parts of the day is checking the mail - haha! i am always so hopeful when i open the lid... since i have started actually looking after my blog my mailbox had been much happier and fuller thanks to the various pen pals i have acquired, giveaways i have won and swaps i have participated in.

all the pretty flowers

i raced home yesterday to see if my parcel full of vintage sheet goodness had arrived and i was more than rewarded for my efforts! look at all the prettiness!! i think i want to make a quilt with lots of little squares rather than only a few big ones. i'll be scouring the net over the next few days for inspiration...

a big shout out to the lovely ange for organising, collecting and sorting over 800 fat quarters... THANKS SO MUCH!

etsy purchases and some swaps

i have had these dresses in my etsy favourites list for a while now and i finally just bit the bullet and got them before someone else could snap them up (i should not be allowed on etsy after 10pm - i went on a bit of a spree. i blame my exhaustion. haha). they are from this funky store.

i have blogged about this vintage sheet swap before over here - posted my parcel off and cannot wait to get the goodies back from the lovely ange :). i have also signed up for the photo swap hosted by the fabulous tillie - im off tomorrow to take some photos to send off to my partner this week!

vintage sheets and other musings

i have finally got my act together and posted of my vintage sheet fat quarters (just in time) for this swap here. im really excited to get all the pretty fabrics back and expand my slow growing fabric collection :)

here is a sneak peek...

im away this coming week on a service camp with some of the teenagers from church. 25 teens in a rural town running a holiday program for the local kids and other service projects for the community! it is a lot of work but always one of my favourite weeks in the whole year!

this year i am also coordinating an op shop formal which im super excited about and will share lots of pictures when i return. if i get organised i might schedule some posts for while i am away but since i havent packed yet and we are leaving in about 2 hours it doesnt look too promising... eek!
